South Africa has earned nominations in five major women’s categories from seven they have been pitted in for the 2025 CAF Awards, announced on Friday.
Mzansi football has been on an upward trajectory for the past few years as Banyana Banyana won their maiden AFCON title back in 2022, while the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team secured two CAF Women’s Champions League titles as well as winning the CAF Club of the Year title in 2022 and 2023.

On Friday, CAF announced the seven categories with South Africa being nominated in five of those.
