Sekhukhune To Sign Cardoso, Pirates Star Next?

Sekhukhune United have secured the services of Daniel Cardoso and are closing in on a move for Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari.

Cardoso, 33, was released by Chiefs upon the expiry of his contract and as first reported by SABC Sport, the defender has penned a three-year deal.

The club who’s already wrapped up 12 signings ahead of the new season are now closing in on number 13, with Motshwari finalising his move to Babina Noko.

iDiski Times have reliably been informed the 31-year-old midfielder rejected a move to newly-promoted Richards Bay after being informed he’s no longer an indispensable member of the Buccaneers squad.

Talks are now at an advanced stage with the player but they’ve yet to agree on personal terms, the club are also keen on Thabang Monare, who’s said to have attracted the interest of SuperSport United since his exit from Pirates.

Several other players remain without a decision yet, namely former Chiefs left-back Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Cape Town City duo Tashreeq Morris and Shane Roberts, who has been training with the club since the start of pre-season.

Sekhukhune who finished 11th in their debut top-flight campaign will play their football at the Peter Mokaba Stadium after initially using Emirates Airline Park as their home base last season.
