Sukazi On Ramovic To Raja Talks

TS Galaxy President Tim Sukazi said he’d hope Sead Ramovic had remained in the Premier Soccer League but offers his blessing should the move to Raja Athletic Club materialise.

Ramovic is high on the agenda for Raja who are seeking a successor to Josef Zinnbauer for the 2024/25 season.

The former Orlando Pirates coach secured a historic unbeaten domestic double in Morocco and looks set for a move to the Saudi Pro League with Al Wehda, as reported by iDiski Times.

Ramovic is among the shortlisted coaches to replace the German, with he club impressed with his work done with the Rockets and Sukazi admits it was inevitable that big clubs come knocking on the door for his services.

“When Sead Ramovic came to TS Galaxy it was his first head coach job, he had no record, I just brought him because I could tell he had talent, he will make a difference to our game,” Sukazi said.

“There was questions that he could be a plumber, he’s not a coach, we had two points after eight games, we were last on the log, relegation bound and I’m bringing in someone who was never been a head coach. But I said it will be a blessing to South African football and you can thank me later.”

The former agent-turned-club owner first made contact with the former Bundesliga goalkeeper when he was still a player and looked to bring him to South Africa, and after he went on to secure his coaching licenses, which led to the UEFA Pro qualification, it enticed Sukazi to lure him to the Rockets.

Sukazi said the work the coach has done, and the close-knit relationship they share is why he would have his full support to move onto a new adventure in Morocco.

“He has made huge contributions into our project and football because he’s produced players of international standard from a crop of players who were ordinarily not international players, so it’s a no-brainer for a coach to attract interest like Sead Ramovic has done,” he continued.

“He’s attracted Raja Casablanca, him and I have been on this subject for five to six weeks, we have been discussing it because we’re close. Should the situation be as such that he has to go and join Raja, then that should happen.

“I would like to believe he becomes an extension of our football you know and into the Moroccan market, nevermind our club – from where I’m sitting I’ll give it my blessing because I think he’s walked with path with us. It will be a big loss for the South African game.”
