Former Jomo Cosmos and Chippa United player Frédéric Nsabiyumva has secured himself a move to Sweden.
Frédéric Nsabiyumva, the former Cosmos captain and Burundi international has been snapped up by Västerås SK in the Swedish Superretan.
Nsabiyumva has spent most of his career in South Africa, specifically with Cosmos, who he joined in the 2013/2014 season. After five seasons with Jomo Sono, he moved to Chippa United, where he stayed for three campaigns, before returning to Cosmos last year.
Now with Cosmos being relegated, Nsabiyumva has got an opportunity to ply his trade in Europe. The 27-year-old has 38 caps for his country.
“In Frédéric we get a player with physical characteristics who is big, strong and fast,” Vasteras’ sporting director Herman Ottosson told the club’s website.
“He is particularly good at playing against wrong-facing players. He will join the team as soon as possible – what remains on paper is a work permit issued by the Migration Agency, which can take up to two weeks to obtain”.
