Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm has explained how he feels when the club’s supporters call his name every time he touches the ball in the field of play.
The Buccaneers are one of the most supported football clubs in South Africa, and Timm has somewhat turned into a fan favourite since joining them from Marumo Gallants in 2022.
Pirates fans are shouting a long “Tiimmmmm” every time he touches the ball. This is not the first time this happens at Pirates; as the whole stadium used to call Oupa Manyisa “Aceeee” every time when he got onto the ball.
“I don’t know who started it,” Timm told the journalists.
“I’m a South African and I know normally more skillful players get certain praises so, I’m just grateful.
“I think I have special connection with supporters that come to the stadium, and I try to show my gratitude by performing to my best to give them joy, obviously to try bring them happiness all the time.”
Timm and Pirates are back in action at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, when they host TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership.
