FIFA referee Abongile Tom will take charge of the MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC.
Tom is one of the finest referees in South Africa as has been proven before through his continental success.
The Cape Town-born official has been out of the country most of this season officiating CAF Champions League, Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He was recently a Video Assistant Referee for the CAF Super Cup clash between Zamalek SC and Al Ahly SC in Saudi Arabia.
Information received by this publication is that Tom will take charge of the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium, he will be assisted by Elphas Sithole, Happy Nhlanhla, and Xola Sitela will be the fourth official.
The last time Tom officiated a local match was at the beginning of the season when Pirates beat SuperSport United by 3-1 in the MTN8 quarter-final.
