Wydad Athletic Club and head coach Rulani Mokwena look set to be heading their separate ways at the end of the season after a meeting between his agent and club president Hicham Ait Menna.
The South African tactician has been under immense pressure with results not forthcoming, the latest being their Throne Cup exit at the hands of Moghreb Atlético Tetuán.

This also comes on the back of four successive draws in the Botola Pro which took them out of the top two in the league for CAF Champions League qualification.
Mokwena’s agent, Steve Kapelushnik, has since confirmed that his client will continue as head coach until the end of the current campaign before leaving the North African outfit.
“I met with President Hisham, the coach, and the technical staff, and there was mutual support between the two parties,” Kapelushnik said, according to Radio Mars.
“I clearly told the president,’If you don’t want Rulani to stay, tell us and we’ll leave. But if you want him, let him stay until the end of the season’.
“And that was agreed upon. He will stay until the end, and then we will leave in a professional and respectful manner.
“The future is clear now. There are five matches left, and Rulani will continue until the end.”
Radio Mars also further established that the club introduced Amine Benhachem as the team’s new sports director on the evening of Tuesday, April 9, 2025, during a training session held at the Wellness Complex.
According to information obtained by Radio Mars , Benhachem’s appointment came at a sensitive time, just days before the Casablanca derby against Raja. He immediately began his duties in order to motivate the players ahead of the derby match.
It should be noted that Wydad has not yet officially announced the signing of Benhachem on its social media platforms.
