Zwane – Casric Game Was There For Taking

AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane believes the game against Casric Stars in the Nedbank Cup “was there for the taking.”

Usuthu were on the wrong side of a 2–1 scoreline, losing to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars in the quarter-final on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Zwane pointed to several chances that were missed by youngsters who are still gaining experience.

He has previously stated that the team is a mix of youth and experience, and that at times they will have to “pay school fees.”

He added that his young troops are learning the hard way after their exit from the competition.

“They are learning but they are learning the hard way because probably we expected them to go to the semifinals,” said Zwane.

“It was always going to be difficult also for them. But what’s disappointing us for now is that this game was there for the taking, taking nothing away from the opponents.

“This is a game we should have won. Whenever we got into the [last] third, we looked like we could score at any given time.”

AmaZulu will turn their focus now on the league as they face Richards Bay on 14 March at home.

Usuthu are fifth in the standings with 31 points from 20 matches.
