Zwane Defends Dolly & Billiat

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says he is not concerned over Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat’s slow start to the 2022/23 campaign.

Dolly has netted one goal in five appearances so far, while Billiat has just one assist.

Both players have started all of Chiefs games so far, and Zwane insisted they remain important players in his strongest line-up, despite having a slow start to the 2022/23 campaign.

“I’m not really concerned, I’ll tell you why I’m not concerned,” he said when asked by iDiski Times about the duo.

“It’s still early in this season, you can only judge them by the end of the season. It might be a case of they started slow.

“But in the end of the day, you need them, they are one of our key players, we need them on the field. And last season, they played a very crucial role in helping the team collecting maximum points in certain games.

“So we can judge them based on what is happening right now, I know they will come back, we’ll help them mentally, physically and psychological, because that’s our job as coaches.

“A loss of form, any player can lose form and two games or three games doesn’t mean that the player now has lost form alltogether or is not good enough to play for for Kaizer Chiefs.

“No, it’s one of those things, they couldn’t score. Against Maritzburg, Keagan scored, Khama had some assist as well, he played very well.

“So we still have a long way to go.”

Chiefs, who have won two games and lost three so far, are back in action on Sunday, when they take on Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 quarter-final at Danie Craven Stadium.
