Thembinkosi Lorch continued his impressive form at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, scoring Wydad AC’s goal in their 4-1 defeat to Juventus.
The Italian giants raced to an early 2-0 lead after Abdelmounaim Boutouil deflected a shot into his own goal after 6 minutes, before Kenan Yildiz netted a stunner just 10 minutes later.
However, Lorch, who was Wydad’s liveliest player throughout the game, gave his side a lifeline with a quality chip over Juventus keeper Michele De Gregorio in the 26th minute.
But overall Juve had more quality and netted another via Yildiz after 69 minutes to take the game out of Wydad’s reach.
Wydad’s other South African, Cassius Mailula, came off the bench in the 78th minute.
Juventus wrapped up the fixture in stoppage time from the penalty spot, Dusan Vlahovic converting to add to Wydad’s misery.
The defeat meant Wydad have all but been eliminated from the tournament with 0 points from two games.
