Lucas Ribeiro Costa’s goal against Borussia Dortmund has been nominated on the shortlist for the Goal of the Tournament of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Ribeiro finished a brilliant solo run from his own half against the Bundesliga side in Mamelodi Sundowns’ 4-3 defeat to the Bundesliga giants.
It was one of the games of the tournament, with Costa handing Masandawana an early lead. However, Dortmund struck back and netted three goals before the break, plus a fourth early in the second half. Masandawana, though, didn’t give up and netted two more for a memorable match.
Ribeiro’s goal now made it onto the 10-goal shortlist published by FIFA, with fans asked to vote for their favourite. You can vote on Facebook until 17 July for your Goal of the Tournament.
Ribeiro, though, is up against some tough competition from the likes of Lionel Messi, Jamal Musiala, Joao Pedro and Jhon Arias.
