After Nigeria failed to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup alive, here are all 32 teams who have booked their ticket for the tournament already – including Africa’s nine representatives.
The Super Eagles lost the African Playoffs final 4-3 on penalties to DR Congo, with the Leopards now off to the Intercontinental Playoffs in March.

Meanwhile, nine African countries have qualified for the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America, including Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana. The other African teams are Algeria, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia.
On Sunday, Norway and Portugal became the latest two nations to qualify after Portugal beat Armenia 9-1 to book their ticket, while Norway hammered Italy 4-1 in Italy to complete an impeccable qualification campaign and return to the World Cup for the first time since 1998.
