All Round of 16 fixtures of the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been confirmed after the final two matches in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Colombia secured the last place in the Last 16 after their 1-0 win over Ghana this evening with Jhon Arias netting the only goal of the game.
Meanwhile, defending champions Argentina needed extra-time to see off a resilient Cape Verde side in their first-ever World Cup.
The game saw Lionel Messi score his seventh goal at the current FIFA World Cup, extending his all-time record to 21.
The Round of 16 starts later today when co-hosts Canada, who knocked out Bafana Bafana, will host Morocco. Later, Germany slayers Paraguay will meet favoured France.
On Sunday, Norway will face Brazil in a highly-anticipated clash before England have to travel to Mexico to face the co-hosts at the Azteca Stadium.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will face 2010 World Cup champions Spain on Monday evening, while the USA will battle with Belgium for a spot in the Last 8.
Argentina set up a Last 16 clash with Egypt, after the Pharaos only became the second African side to book their spot in the Round of the 16 – their best-ever result at a World Cup.
Last but not least, Switzerland will face Colombia in final Round of 16 clash.
