Kaizer Chiefs have named 20 players in their match day-squad for the CAF Champions League final, with eight players, including Itumeleng Khune, not named on the bench.
Stuart Baxter has included a few changes to the starting XI, the first one he will guide from the sidelines after receiving his work permit in time for the final.
He selected: Akpeyi, Frosler, Mashiane, Mphahlele, Mathoho, Cardoso, Katsande, Blom, Nurkovic, Parker (c), Ngcobo, while Bvuma, Akumu, Kambole, Castro, Billiat, Sasman, Zulu, Ntiya-Ntiya, Ngezana were named on the bench.
While Khama Billiat was ready in time to make the bench for the biggest game in the club’s history, Lebogang Manyama seemingly didn’t recover in time.
Chiefs traveled with their full first-team squad to Morocco, but eight players were not included in the match-day squad, namely: Kearyn Baccus, Lebogang Lesako, Itumeleng Khune, Kgotso Moleko, Darrel Matsheke, Lebogang Manyama, Dumisani Zuma, Brylon Petersen.
Siphehlele Ntshangase and Keletso Sifama were also registered in Chiefs’ Caf Champions League squad but have already left the club.
