Munetsi Sends Khama A Message

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Marshall Munetsi has sent Khama Billiat a message following his shock retirement from international football.

Munetsi left Pirates in 2019 to join State Reims and has since cemented a place in the starting XI of the Ligue 1 side.

He has made 21 appearances for the Warriors but missed the latest camp due to an injury.

Billiat, who captained Zimbabwe against South Africa and Ethiopia, announced his retirement from the national team on Monday evening, leading Munetsi to send him a farewell message on Tuesday.

“You are a legend and you represented your nation with pride and thank you for teaching and guiding us. Am forever grateful to have shared the pitch with you Gaucho, Khama Billiat,” he wrote.

Billiat himself racked up 45 caps for his home country, scoring 13 times since his senior debut in March 2011.

He did hang up his boots after the unsuccessful qualification campaign for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and two months before his country will take part in the AFCON.
