Broos Reacts To Bafana
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has reacted to his side’s goalless draw in the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
The Belgian tactician was on the sideline for a first time since being appoint national coach of South Africa and saw Bafana collect a point in Harare on Friday.
Following a match that was short on highlights, Broos stated that he was happy with the point.
“I’m happy with the draw today,” Broos told reporters after the match.
“Both teams had the chances to win. Every team had a few chances but not more than that.
“I’m happy with the point but on the other side we could’ve done something better today.”
Broos added that, while he was happy with the point, he wanted to pounce on the issues Zimbabwe had with several players missing the match.
“Before the game I’d like to win the game because it was an opportunity for us, seeing the problems that Zimbabwe have had.
“But you saw the game, Zimbabwe could’ve scored, we could’ve scored, so I think the draw is a fair result.”
Bafana will face Ghana in their next qualifier on Monday, 09 September.
