Kaizer Chiefs Gavin Hunt has explained why the dates of the CAF Champions League semi-finals are a problem.
The Amakhosi coach has led the Glamour Boys into the semi-finals of the competition for a first time ever.
Chiefs booked their ticket after eliminating Simba S.C. 4-3 on aggregate and will now face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the next round.
Hunt’s men will first play away from home, having lost 4-0 at Wydad during the group stages, before hosting them at the FNB Stadium a week later on 18 and 25 June respectively.
“Well, that’s a problem because it interferes with the pre-season,” he said after the match.
“And so anyway, we’ll worry about that, we’ve got three league games left.
“We need to concentrate on those league games now. And try and get ourselves up the league.”
Chiefs will now return to domestic football, facing Black Leopards on Wednesday before hosting Golden Arrows a week later and ending the DStv Premiership with a trip to TS Galaxy on 5 June.
