Former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness has criticised Brazilian star Neymar, questioning why he left Barcelona when he did.
Neymar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, has been linked with a possible return to Barcelona.
The former Scottish International feels that Neymar took a step down when he left Barcelona for PSG.
“I don’t understand why Neymar left Barcelona in 2017 when he was playing with Lionel Messi,” Souness said in his column in The Times.
“I don’t see that as someone saying they really want to challenge themselves. It was definitely a step down to leave Barcelona at that time.”
“What for? More stardom and an easier life, I guess. I’m not sure what that says about him.”
