Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye has reacted to Amakhosi’s 3-0 CAF Champions League final defeat against Al Ahly, comparing the game to a horror movie.
The Glamour Boys reached their first-ever CAF Champions League final, but ended up on the losing side.
The game was locked at 0-0 when Happy Mashiane received a red card on VAR review a minute before half-time, before Al Ahly scored three unanswered goals in the second interval.
After seeing how the game played out, Khanye was vindicated about his predictions from before the final, insisting Amakhosi need to start fixing their development structure to experience continuous success.
“Today I’m going to be praised as a genius because these predictions were correct. I don’t want to be complimented or praised by the same people who were harassing me,” he told iDiski TV.
“There is a lot of work to be done at this club. They have signed players but that is not the solution.
“They will win a trophy by some luck but they will never experience continuous success for as long as they don’t fix their development structure.
“The game today was like a horror movie… Al Ahly was all over them. It looked like a training session.“
