An irate Lionel Messi hit out at media on his arrival back in Spain following the international break.
The Argentinian star was mobbed by journalists at the airport, and Messi was asked about the comments by Eric Olhats, Antoine Griezmann’s former agent.
Olhats told France Football, “Antoine arrived in a struggling club where Messi has a view on everything. He’s at the same time emperor and monarch, and he didn’t see Antoine’s arrival with a good eye.”
“His attitude has been deplorable, he made him feel that. I’ve always heard Antoine say there’s no problem with Messi, but never the other way around. It is the regime of terror. Either you are with him or you are against him.”
“In my eyes, Messi said he wanted to leave to see what role he still had as a decision-making player, regarding the players who arrived and those who left, but he eventually stayed. Classic Messi!”
Messi was not happy.
“I’m tired of always being the problem for everything at the club,” Messi said as he arrived at the airport.
And it wasn’t only Olhats’ comments that irked the Barcelona star.
“I get here after a 15-hour flight and I find a tax agent here, it’s ridiculous.”
Messi had been linked with a move to Manchester City during the off season, but that was blocked by Barca, who insisted that his release clause would need to be met.
However rumours persist that Messi may be close to an exit, with City reportedly ready to make another attempt to lure him in the new year.
