Lionel Messi has joined Paris Saint-Germain after his exit from FC Barcelona, saying the French club match his football ambitions.
The 24-year-old was announced as new PSG player on Tuesday evening, with the club confirming he signed a two-year deal with an option for a third.
Messi will wear the Nr. 30 shirt at Parc des Princes and have his unveiling press conference on Wednesday.
However, he already gave the club’s media department a brief interview, saying he wants to help build something special.
“I am excited to begin a new chapter of my career at Paris Saint-Germain. Everything about the club matches my football ambitions,” he told the club’s website.
“I know how talented the squad and the coaching staff are here. I am determined to help build something special for the club and the fans, and I am looking forward to stepping out onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes.”
