Middendorp Quits In Ethiopia

Media in Ethiopia have reported that Ernst Middendorp has quit as coach of St. George.

After leaving Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season, the German coach had signed a three year deal with the Ethiopian club, but has now reportedly asked the board to be released from his contract.

However, now after less than two months at St. George, Ethiopian media reported that Middendorp would be leaving.

Social media in South Africa was abuzz when the news broke, as Maritzburg United recently parted ways with Eric Tinkler.

Middendorp has a long relationship with the Pietermaritzburg club, having had 3 spells in charge .at the club.

It is not clear what Maahier Davids will be doing. The former Maritzburg assistant coach, who was head coach at Cape Umoya last season, had recently gone to Ethiopia to assist Middendorp.
