Mosimane – They Beat Barcelona 8-2

Pitso Mosimane has said it’s good Al Ahly got past Al-Duhail in the quarter-finals at the Club World Cup, but Bayern Munich in the semi-finals will be another story.

Ahly beat the Qatari side 1-0 in the quarter-finals, and will face the German and European champions in the last four game on Monday.

Speaking after the win, Mosimane said Bayern will be a huge challenge for the Egyptian giants.

Mosimane says he knows the Germans will start as big favourites, but hopes his team will have fun, and make the most of the experience.

“Bayern Munich, we shoud have fun, I think. We have nothing to lose but everything to get. Imagine we win that match? Our life will turn around,” Mosimane said at the official presser after the win on Thursday.

“Very difficult match to win. Big team, the champions, they’ve won the cup, they’ve won the league, they’ve won the Champions League, what else they haven’t won? Okay, we did the same, also in Africa, we won everything, the treble.”

“But they’re Bayern. Bayern has got pressure, they must beat us. We don’t have pressure. So we want to have fun. Maybe frustrate them a little bit. And see how it goes. Would be nice to take them to penalties, and it’s 50-50. If that team can beat Barcelona with Lionel Messi on the pitch, and they beat them 8-2, who are we?”

“So we are just here to have fun. So we did what we were supposed to, tonight we were supposed to win. We have won the match. For Bayern I don’t know guys, what can we say? They’ve got all the great football players.”

“But you know how football is. Sometimes football has got its own mysteries and and you ask yourself what happened? Yeah, these things do happen. I think you remember Leicester City won the league in the English Premier League. Maybe it might never happen again in our lifetime. But it has happened.”
