Al Ahly Coach Pitso Mosimane has said that the club will need to accept the current situation, after Mamelodi Sundowns released a statement that they would no longer discuss the transfer of Gaston Sirino.
It was an open secret that the Egyptian club had wanted to sign the Uruguayan, and that they had been in discussions with Sundowns.
However yesterday Sundowns released a statement saying they would no longer entertain Al Ahly’s interest as the two parties were too far from reaching an agreement on a transfer fee.
Speaking after Al Ahly’s 4-0 win over Al-Ittihad, Mosimane was asked about Sundowns’ statement about Sirino.
Mosimane said that they will need to deal with the current situation.
“This is the current situation and we need to deal with it,” Mosimane was quoted as saying, according to KingFut.
“We may need a replacement and we may not. Mohamed Sherif is doing his job and we trust him.”
“If we find a player with special abilities before the Club World Cup, why won’t we sign him? We need two players with special characteristics.”
