Official: Man Utd Sack Solskjaer

Manchester United have sacked managed Ole Gunner Solskjaer after their heavy defeat to Watford on Saturday.

The Norwegian had been in charge at Old Trafford since 19 December 2018 but failed to lift any silverware.

Under Solskjaer, United finished in sixth, third and second, while also reaching the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League final, leading many to believe there had been consistent improvement under Solskjaer.

However, following a run of just three wins, one draw and eight defeats over the last 13 games, United’s board have decided to replace their coach.

The club also confirmed that Michael Carrick will take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the board look to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.

Solskjaer leaves United with a record of 92 wins, 41 defeats and 35 draws in 168 games.
