Spanish giants Real Madrid have announced the return of the Jose Mourinho, who joins the club as new head coach.
The Portuguese returns to the club after Florentino Perez opted to buy him out of his contract at Benfica after Real went throphyless last season.
Mourinho was coach of Real between 2010 and 2013, winning one LaLiga, Copa del Rey and one Spanish Super Cup.
He now returns after penning a contract until June 2029, with the club announcing his return on Thursday evening.
“The Board of Directors of Real Madrid C.F., meeting today, Thursday, June 11, and presided over by Florentino Pérez, has agreed to appoint José Mourinho as the first team’s head coach for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2029,” Real stated.
“José Mourinho will join Real Madrid on July 13, the day preseason begins.”
Mourinho was in charge of 178 games, collecting 128 wins, 28 draws and 23 defeats.
