Pitso Hits Back At Benni & Co
Pitso Mosimane has hit back at the likes of Benni McCarthy, who said Percy Tau’s move to Al Ahly was a step back.
Tau joined the Egyptian giants from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in an attempt find regular game-time.
However, his transfer has split opinions in South Africa, with McCarthy explaining that Tau leaving Premier League could be a bad sign for future South African footballers wanting to play in the England.
Mosimane, though, has questioned why none of the critics, especially those like Mccarthy, who played overseas and have contacts there, have not helped the winger to stay in Europe.
“All these people that are saying, Percy should’ve gone wherever, who assisted Percy, why didn’t they pick up the phone,” he said on Soccerzone.
“No one said, hey I played in England, I played in Portugal, I played in Italy. Pick up the phone, help a brother.
“Call that club, they know you. Some of them they have grandstands named after them and all of that.
“Call other teams, here is a talented young star, I give you my word. They never did.
“Why does nobody speak about Keagan Dolly leaving Europe to come back to Kaizer Chiefs? Keagan Dolly left Ligue 1 to play for Kaizer Chiefs.”
Tau joined Al Ahly in a move understood to cost €1.8 million overall, but is paid in instalments.
