Pitso – It’s Not Over!
Pitso Mosimane has reacted to his side dropping two crucial points in the Egyptian title race.
The South African coach saw his side only collect a 1-1 draw against Ismaily on Wednesday evening, which resulted in Al Ahly falling two points behind rivals Zamalek on log.
However, with five games still to be played, Mosimane has insisted the title race is not yet over, even though the result hurt his side.
“The title is not yet finished,” he said after the match.
“We have to focus and believe, because we don’t know what’s going to happen after.
“Yes, we fell sad we lost the two points. We know it’s a big impact but football doesn’t work like that, you’ve got to play it till the last minute.”
Mosimane was asked whether playing a day after Zamalek had won their game had an impact but insisted his side were not nervous.
“I’m not sure about that, I can’t guarantee that,” he said.
“When I look at the match, it’s difficult for me to say, because we were not nervous.”
Al Ahly now sit on 65 points, while Zamalek lead with 67 points. However, the new log leaders face Ismaily in their next game, when they will try to better the result of Mosimane’s men.
