Pitso Misses 3 Players For Downs Clash

Pitso Mosimane has received some bad news ahead of the second leg with Mamelodi Sundowns after two Al Ahly players tested positive for COVID-19 and another was ruled out with injury.

The defending champions arrived in Johannesburg on Tuesday morning, with ‘Jingles’ being able to recall Ali Maaloul and Hamdy Fathi to his squad.

However, Mohamed Mahmoud and Mostafa Shobier both tested positive for COVID-19 after the whole team underwent collective testing on Sunday, according to Kingfut.

Mahmoud, though, already missed the first leg with injury, while third-choice goalkeeper Shobier would likely not have played either way.

Striker Marwan Mohsen also missed the trip to South Africa after picking up an injury to his knee, but the 32-year-old was more of a squad player for Mosimane, having only started three games this season.
