Pitso Mosimane was full of praise for Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt when asked about the possibility of facing Amakhosi.
The South African tactician was visibly emotional in his post-match press conference after some Mamelodi Sundowns supporters had insulted him ahead of his homecoming to Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
‘Jingles’ was also asked about potentially facing The Glamour Boys in the competition, which could only happen if both team qualify for the final, and found some kind words for Chiefs coach Hunt.
“I don’t choose people. We only plan one game at a time and I have big respect,” he said.
“Did you see the goals that Chiefs scored? Tell me 80% of those goals, what were they?
“Simba can play very well, they dribbled us in Tanzania. When they came to us, we were organised and then you win.
“I’m not gonna point fingers at Gavin Hunt (for the way Chiefs played), because I respect him.
“Why? Because I think Gavin Hunt has won three (league) titles and lots of trophies. So why should I disrespect him?
“He’s got experience. He might not do very well in the league, but he knows how to win a game. We have been there. We have experience, we know how to win a match.”
Al Ahly and Mosimane will now face Tunisian giants Esperance in the semi-final, while Hunt and Chiefs will have to beat Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.
