Pitso Reacts To Shock Defeat
Pitso Mosimane has reacted to suffering his first defeat in the Egyptian Premier League since taking over Al Ahly in September.
‘Jingles’ had gone unbeaten for 16 league games, winning 12 and drawing four, before a 93rd minute goal saw him experience his first domestic defeat against Smouha on Wednesday night.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, though, did not want to use the club’s mounting injuries as an excuse for the 2-1 defeat.
“We committed several individual and collective mistakes and we had no energy during the game,” Mosiamane said, as per Kingfut.
“We could have killed the game early through Afsha’s chance. Unfortunately the game went differently after they scored the opener, we have to accept the defeat.
“I won’t discuss injuries today because we lost. I will not look for excuses, we beat Zamalek while suffering many absences and today we lost the game and we have to accept the loss.”
Al Ahly remain in second place, three points behind bitter rivals Zamalek but have two games in hand over the White Knights.
