Pitso Wants Third CAFCL Title With Al Ahly
Pitso Mosimane says he is excited about the beginning of the new CAF Champions League and the journey “towards achieving the third title” with Al Ahly.
The South African coach and his club were locked in contract talks recently, but Al Ahly released a statement on Wednesday, explaining that Mosimane will stay with the club until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The club also confirmed that Mosimane did not ask for a raise and talks were amicable between both sides, with negotiations set to commence by the end of the campaign.
Mosimane himself has now taken to social media, saying he is looking forward to the new CAF Champions League campaign with Al Ahly.
The 2020/21 champions will start their title defence against Union Sportive Gendarmerie Nationale on Saturday.
“I am very excited that our journey towards achieving the 3rd CAF Champions League title in a row starts on Saturday in Niger,” he wrote on twitter.
“We are focused on the prize ahead and ready to once again conquer the CAF Champions League tournament.”
Mosimane guided Al Ahly to back-to-back CAF Champions League trophies, lifting their ninth and 10th trophy in Africa’s elite club competition.
