Tashreeq Matthews was on the scoresheet on Tuesday night as Varberg beat Norrkoping 2-1 in the Swedish Allsvenkan.
The former Ajax Cape Town and Borussia Dortmund youngster grabbed a 32nd minute goal, that would be prove to be the winner.
It was Varberg’s second win of the season that sees them climb to 13th on the table after seven games, Norkopping are four points ahead in fourth spot.
Matthews was one of the three South Africans to play in the match.
Luke Le Roux started alongside Matthews, while former Kaizer Chiefs forward Ryan Moon came off the bench for the last half hour of the game.
Varberg’s fourth South African, Keanin Ayer Boya, was not in the match squad.
