Serero Nominated For Prestigious Award
Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero could bag his third individual award after winning the Gulf Pro League with Al Jazira SC.
The 31-year-old can look back at a stellar campaign during which he started all but one game for Jazira, helping them to claim their third league title.
His fine performances haven’t gone unnoticed as he has already been named the Best Foreign Midfielder in the league, while also being named as the Best Foreign Player by his own club.
Serero is now also one of 10 nominees for the Best Foreign Player at the UAE Pro League Awards, where he will have to fend off competition from his own teammate Milos Kosanovic as well as Sasa Ivkovic, Nicolas Gimenez, Gaston Suarez, Joao Pedro (Bani Yas), Ryan Mendes, Toze (Al Nasr), Dodo (Khor Fakkan), and Cartabia (Shabab Al Ahli), according to Emirates News Agency.
The UAE Pro League offers multiple voting channels, as fans can cast their votes through the UAEPL official website and the mobile app.
The voting opened on Monday and will run until Thursday, with the winners set to be announced in a ceremony on 16 August.
