Simba Coach – I’m Convinced We Can Beat Chiefs

Simba S.C. coach Didier Gomes says he believes his side will beat Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Champions League on Saturday, but he doesn’t know by how many goals.

The French manager admitted that his side made too many mistakes during the 4-0 first-leg defeat at the FNB Stadium last week.

However, Gomes also revealed that he has seen a reaction from his players in training, saying Simba will be out for revenge.

“We didn’t underrate them. We respected them,” he said during his pre-match press conference.

“Like we have said before the match, the eight teams qualified for the quarter-final are teams with very good quality.

“I’m not sure (whether) Chiefs are the best team we’ve played, but we have show that tomorrow afternoon.

“If we are able to make the impossible things, it will be very, very good for us. We believe in it, we believe in it.

“That’s why I’ve asked our fans to push us until the end of the match. I’m completely convinced that we are able to win the match.

“It is the first things we have to do for our fans, for our revenge, for our pride. It is very important.

“After that, if we can score two, three, four or five goals, I don’t know. But for sure we will fight and we give our everything for that.”

Amakhosi have never conceded five goals in a CAF Champions League game, leaving fans excited about the prospect of qualifying for their first ever semi-final.

The game is set to kick off at 15:00 on Saturday, with 10 000 fans being allowed into the National Stadium.
