Tau In Line For 1st EPL Game Since January?

Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Percy Tau could be in line to make his first Premier League appearance since January, with Brighton & Hove Albion missing a few attacking players.

The Seagulls secured another season of Premier League football after all three relegated spots were confirmed with three games to play.

Tau, who celebrated his 27th birthday on Thursday, still has a contract at the Amex Stadium until June 2022 but he has made just five appearances since returning from his loan with RSC Anderlecht in January.

After initially featuring in the first two Premier League games as well as three cup fixtures upon his return, Tau has been on the sidelines for the last few months.

However, with Neal Maupay picking up a red card in Brighton’s last game, coach Graham Potter confirmed it could be an opportunity for some of the other attackers, who’ve played less.

“Well there is always an opportunity but we need to make sure that we are competitive, we want to win the game,” he said when asked about the playing chances of Tau, Aaron Connolly or Andi Zeqiri.

“I’ll play the best team that I think is the best team to bring us the points.

“So it’s up to the guys and they are pushing, and everybody wants to play, it is just a case of making a decision.

“But yeah, it’s an opportunity as I say. [We have] a couple of injuries, a couple of suspensions. We need to use the group, we’ve got a big week coming up with three big games.

“It’s all there to play for and things change in football very quickly.”

Brighton next host West Ham United at home on Saturday before facing Manchester City and Arsenal in the final two league games of 2020/21.
