Tau Not In Brighton Squad Amid Pitso Links

Percy Tau was not in Brighton & Hove Albion’s squad for their final pre-season friendly against Getafe, amid reports he will join Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly.

The 27-year-old scored his first goal for Brighton last weekend against Luton Town after coming off the bench but a lot has changed since.

Reports have intensified that Brighton have agreed to a transfer fee with Al Ahly for the winger, with Mosimane confirming that his side is interested in the winger.

As a consequence, Tau was not included in Brighton’s squad for Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Getafe and instead watched the game from the hospitality suite.

Tau could reunite with his former coach at the Egyptian giants after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018 for the Premier League side.

However, he couldn’t receive a work permit and went out on loan thrice before a rule change allowed him to play in England since January.

Tau, though, only made three Premier League appearances in the second half of 2020/21 and is understood to be looking for regular game-time at Al Ahly.
