Tau Sends Message To Chiefs
Percy Tau has sent a message of support to Kaizer Chiefs, wishing them all the best in their upcoming CAF Champions League semi-final.
The Bafana Bafana international, who confirmed he wants to fight for his place at Brighton & Hove Albion next season, spoke during an event organised by Hyundai South Africa, which iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu attended.
Among a wide range of topics, Tau also spoke about Chiefs’ exploits in the CAF Champions League this season, saying their run will benefit Bafana Bafana and the Olympics squad.
“Look I think it’s their first time there. It’s a great experience, good opportunity. It could still sum up also to be a good season if they go to the final and win it,” he explained.
“You know it’s an opportunity to to also get the experience of playing in that level for the players because they need it in when they go for Bafana.
“Also the some of the younger players when they grow and go for Olympics. We need such experience because we, we don’t get such experiences compared to Europeans.
“Some players are 23 they’ve played the World Cup, even won it. So we don’t get such experiences here.
“So it’d be good for them to keep going. And I wish them I wish them all the best.”
Tau also said that their upcoming semi-final against Wydad Casablanca will be difficult but insisted the PSL side have a chance if they can win their home game.
“It’s gonna be difficult (to win the CAFCL) but I’m supporting them,” he added.
“As long as they, they win their home games, which they’ve done also on the previous round against the team from Simba.
“They won their home game and away they had already wrapped it up, even though Simba came back and it was challenging for them.
“But they’ve done well at home. So even the last few games the muscles do well at home and manage their results away.”
