After tonight’s round of qualifiers, 11 teams have already qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The hosts are of course qualified, while Germany became the first nation to book their ticket after topping Group J with nine wins and one defeat.
Denmark followed with a similar record in Group F despite losing their final match to Scotland on Monday evening, while Brazil secured their ticket in the South American qualifiers already.
France and Belgium topped Group D and Group E, respectively, while Croatia beat Russia to top spot in Group H.
Spain and Serbia booked their tickets on Sunday, with Serbia overtaking Portugal in Group A thanks to an injury-time goal by Aleksandar Mitrovic.
On Monday, England, who beat San Marino 10-0, and Switzerland followed, with the latter overtaking Italy in Group C after the Azzurri could only draw 0-0 in Nothern Ireland.
As a consequence, the 2020 Euro champions join the likes of Portugal and Russia in the playoffs, which will take place in March.
