The UEFA Champions League last 16 draw had to be redone and given us completely different fixtures then the first time around.
The draw had to be redone for a second time following a technical problem with the software of an external service provider that instructs the officials as to which teams are eligible to play each other.
The error had appeared when Villarreal and Manchester United, who already faced each other in the same group, were drawn against each other and subsequently United were not put back in the correct drawing pot.
Seeded group winners were drawn against unseeded runners-up, while teams form the same football association cannot not face each other.
Below are the new confirmed last 16 fixtures:
FC Salzburg vs Bayern Munich
Sporting vs Manchester City
Benfica vs Ajax Amsterdam
Chelsea vs Lille
Atletico Madrid vs Manchester United
Villarreal vs Juventus
Inter Milan vs Liverpool
Paris Saint-Germain vs Real Madrid
The away goals rule has fallen away, so ties level after 180 minutes will go to extra time irrespective of the number of goals each team has scored at home and away. If the teams still cannot be separated after the additional 30 minutes, the tie goes to a penalty shoot-out.
The first legs are scheduled for 15/16/22/23 February, with the second legs on 8/9/15/16 March. Kick-offs are at 21:00 CET.
