RS Berkane head coach Juan Pedro Benali has insisted that his team are not afraid of Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly in the CAF Super Cup final.
The Moroccan side will face Al Ahly in a clash between last season’s CAF Confederations Cup champions and the winners of the CAF Champions League.
Berkane only sit in 11th position of the Botola Pro table, winning just one of their last six games in the league.
However, coach Benali insisted that they will be ready and fully focussed for Friday’s final against Mosimane’s men.
“We are well aware of facing the club of century and the Champions League winners Al Ahly,” Benali said ahead of the game.
“We struggled with injuries in the league but this competition is different and we have to be at the climax of our concentration.
“Anything can happen in the game and there is nothing to be afraid of. We are here to play well, it’s a game between two big teams but we are confident in ourselves.”
“We are ready for all scenarios, in case we win it shouldn’t be considered a surprise as we are ready and will give our best to win. If we are not ready to win it’s better we go back home.”
Al Ahly will face Berkane in Doha today, with the game set to kick off at 18:00, SA time.
