Zinedine Zidane says that in his opinion Karim Benzema is the greatest French striker of all time.
Zidane was speaking after Benzema scored a brace for Real Madrid in a 3-1 win over Athletic Bilboa, and the Real Madrid boss, a French legend himself, had nothing but praise for his countryman.
France have had many great strikers over the year from Jean-Pierre Papin to Thierry Henry to Kylian Mbappe, but for Zidane Benzema is the best.
“For me, he’s the best. It’s very clear. He’s proved it,” Zidane was quoted as saying by the National News after Madrid’s win.
“He’s played at Real Madrid for a very long time, he has more more than 500 appearances, al his goals – his record, all he has accomplished here speaks for itself.
