Henderson – My Forensic Report Gives SAFA Chest Pains

As South African Football Association (SAFA) has laid charges against Bart Henderson for circulating defamatory statements and starting a petition against the association, its president Dr Danny Jordaan and CFO Gronie Hluyo, the forensic investigator says he’s not worried.

Henderson feels he has rattled the association, with Jordaan having told this publication that he has nothing to hide, adding if anyone wants to know what happened to the 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust they should go to its website or ask the association for a report on how that money was spent.

Jordaan went as far labelling Henderson as “a white right-wing Afrikaner” who is talking “rubbish”, to which Henderson replied that Jordaan is busy attacking him as a human being instead of actually addressing the issues raised on his report.

The forensic investigator said Jordaan and SAFA CFO Hluyo should step down pending an investigation.

Henderson’s report led SAFA Vice President Bennett Bailey, CEO Lydia Monyepao, CFO Hluyo, former General Manager of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust, Joe Carrim, and SAFA’s legal representative, Lesedi Mphahlele, address members of the media at SAFA House on Friday to give an update on the actions being taken against Henderson.

Others who were present were representatives of the forensics department at the law firm ENSafrica.

Henderson said he was recently employed by a former Trustee of the now-dissolved 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust and was asked to investigate SAFA and the Trust, for supposed fraud and corruption, adding he is not worried about the court cases against him.

“No questions and answer”, said Henderson again to iDiski Times, where he shared a 42-page document after SAFA’s affairs.

“Let the law take its course. SAFA is clearly not reading the room. [My] report is this, [my] report is that. I’m this and that. Well, it sure seems to be giving them chest pains. They are doing everything in their power to avoid speaking to it.

“The defamation charge is rubbish and so is the POPI charge. They’ll both get thrown out. It’s just noise to distract the public’s attention from the issues the report raises.

“The more SAFA talks the more I realise how much substance there must be to the report and how important it is for the public to read it. What am I doing about it? I’m working on making their claim even bigger.

“SAFA needs a commission of enquiry and a full independent forensic investigation. Jordaan and Hluyo must step down, pending the outcome of this investigation and very serious charges they are facing under investigation by the Hawks. Finish.”

Henderson, who has worked as the forensic investigator for close to 30 years, said he is 99 percent sure his allegations against SAFA are correct.
