Cape Town Spurs and Stellenbosch will battle it out for 2022 Bayhill Premier Cup honours when they meet in the Roger Clayton Section final at Erica Park on Monday afternoon.
It was knockout Sunday in Belhar and earlier in the day, the quarter-finals produced an upset as JL Zwane beat favourites Ubuntu Academy in a penalty shootout.
Their quarter-final match had ended goalless, before the JL Zwane goalkeeper saved three penalties to advance to the semis.
Cape Town Spurs ended defending champions Highlands Park’s run in the quarter-finals, winning by a 1-0 scoreline, while Stellenbosch won by the same margin against the Bayhill United team.
Finally Hanover Park continued their good run by beating Virginia Academy 2-0 to complete the semi-final line-up.
But that run came to an end in the semi-finals, when they took on Spurs. The team formerly known as Ajax Cape Town, booked their place in the final with a 3-0 victory in the first semi-final.
In the second semi-final Stellenbosch scored a second half penalty to beat JL Zwane to set up an intriguing final on Monday afternoon.
