Mamelodi Sundowns’ Lyle Lakay and Kaizer Chiefs’ Nkosingiphile Ngcobo were both included in CAF’s Team of the Week following the weekend’s matches.
Sundowns beat TP Mazembe 2-1 in Lubumbashi on Saturday, with Lakay scoring a great free kick in the final minutes to secure the win. It was a first loss at home for Mazembe in the CAFCL since 2009.
Meanwhile Chiefs picked up their first win in the group stages when they beat Petro De Luanda 2-0 at the FNB Stadium.
Ngcobo was instrumental in the win, and was rewarded with inclusion in CAF’s best XI for his performance.
