Algeria’s ES Setif and Orlando Pirates played to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday night.
ES Setif 0-0 Orlando Pirates
The match was played in neutral Ghana, due to Algeria’s Covid-19 restrictions.
Unfortunately for Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori was an early casualty, and he was replaced by Siyabonga Mpontshane 15 minutes into the game.
And it was a goalless first half in Ghana, with much of the battle happening in the middle of the park.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with both teams not making a huge impact in the final third.
While Pirates did have chances, their players didn’t seem to have their scoring boots on, and almost all attempts at goal were off target.
And in the end, a draw was the fair result, and Pirates leave Ghana with a point on the road.
Nigeria’s Enyimba currently top Group A after they beat Al Ahli Benghazi 2-1 earlier in the day.
