Abia Nale Brings Experience To Rookies

Abia Nale hopes that his experience will help rookies Bizana Pondo Chiefs survive in the GladAfrica Championship this season.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star, has been in the football wilderness for the past few years, and says he appreciates the opportunity to play again.

After leaving Chiefs, the 34 year old, had spells at Mpumalanga Black Aces, Maritzburg United and Platinum Stars.

The former Golden Arrows player, also had a spell on loan at Ajax Cape Town, before he left Chiefs.

Co-incidentally, three of the six teams Nale played for in the past, no longer exist. Ajax are now Cape Town Spurs, Aces are Cape Town City, while Platinum Stars are Cape United.

“It feels like it’s my first contract, I remember when I signed for Lamontville Golden Arrows,  I have been here for more than fourteen to fifteen years. The  mentality is to learn again, maybe I can play until I’m forty five years, maybe play for another five years,” Nale told the club’s media department.

“I wanna thank the management and coaching staff for being patient with me, it’s  almost three years not playing but they gave me this opportunity.”

“Some of the players who are my colleagues now  have seen me playing on television and some were ball boys back then but what is important is the work that I will put in training and on the field.”

“What I want to achieve with Bizana Pondo Chiefs FC,  is to help the club survive the relegation and next season we see if we can compete to get the promotion.”

Nale made his debut for the club on Sunday, coming on as a substitute to help Chiefs beat Jomo Cosmos 2-1.
