New Kaizer Chiefs signing Cole Alexander sent a message to Kaizer Chiefs fans after he became the club’s latest signing.
Alexander was playing for Odisha FC in India last season, where he worked with Stuart Baxter, and the former Ajax Cape Town, Polokwane City and SuperSport United midfielder is happy to re-unite with the Englishman.
Alexander says joining Chiefs is the one of the proudest moments of his career.
“It still feels surreal to me,” Alexander told the club’s media department.
“Very, very, very happy to be here, one of my proudest moments in my career. So I’m extremely happy to be with such a prestigious club.
“My journey coming here, I played in the ISL season, under the current coach Baxter, got a call from him, got a call from Chiefs and didn’t look back again, you know, I was fully committed, I wanted to join a club as big as this, ja.
“I was with my family when I got the news, and as soon as the call was done, I told them and we were all so happy and ja, just really grateful to be here. I think based on the knowledge of this club, how big this club is in Africa, how big the fan base is, and just how prestigious this brand is, based on all of that.
“I know the expectations and the pressure is high at such a big club, but what I can promise is my best, nothing less.
“Since a kid I loved this team, and the fans was always the thing that stood out for me. It was one of the things that stood out for me by this club, and I’m just so happy to be at a big club like this.
“And ja, my promise to the fans is that I’ll give my best nothing less you know that that’s for sure.”
