AmaZulu have confirmed that Vasili Manousakis and Moeneeb Josephs are part of Benni McCarthy’s technical team, and have joined up with the team ahead of Sunday’s match against Bloemfontein Celtic.
Manousakis will be McCarthy’s assistant alongside Siyabonga Nomvethe, while Josephs returns to the club he left at the end of last season, as the new goalkeeper coach.
“I’m very, very happy with the rest of the technical team joining me. Like I said it was nice against Chippa, but it would have been even better if we were all together, all the coaching staff, so we can work nice together,” McCarthy said.
“Our technical team is taking shape and I think we can give the players the best that we have as a coaching staff, and hopefully expect the best from the players as well.”
“When he told me about the vision and the project of the club, the new owners, the technical team he was assembling, it was quite exciting, and ja, I decided to move in a different direction, so really happy to be here,” Manousakis said.
“I cant wait to really get stuck into things and get started. Unbelievable group of players here, fantastic characters, and looking forward to our first match on Sunday.”
“As you can see the whole technical team, the players and the team now, there is ambition in the team, they want to be successful, and this is a sleeping giant,” Josephs said, “and this sleeping giant is about to wake up!”
