Arthur Ready To Make History With JVW

Newly appointed Hollywoodbets Super League outfit JVW head coach Mahama Musa Arthur has explained his ambitions for the team ahead of the new season.

Arthur was unveiled on Monday, replacing Ciara Picco, who guided the team to fourth place last season.

The 46-year-old, who is a South African citizen, is now been tasked with guiding JVW to winning the league, and he says he is confident they will win.

Arthur, who has been with the club since early this month in the pre-season, says the players are really up for the season, and he believes in them.

“We want to be the Hollywood Super League champions and represent South Africa in Africa’s elite tournaments,” Mahama told iDiski Times.

“I am really pleased to be part of this great League of Hollywood Super league side, I think it is about time that women football in this wonderful country of ours rises to the occasion and compete among the best in the world.

“For me, it’s a step in the right direction, and hopefully, I can be able to contribute positively to women football in the country, I’m fortunate enough to be part of this ambitious group of ladies who just wants to win, so hopefully this year could be our year.

“With unity, hard work, commitment, respect, love, passion, dedication, discipline and ambitions, we are hoping to concede fewer goals and score goals, I think with a bit of luck this year will be our year.

“I have been with the team since the beginning of the year and have already done few pre-season sessions with the team, but it only became official today the 23rd of January.”

The Ghanaian joined the club with the grassroots football experience -having coached Help Academy Youth Development in Alex and Alexandra United in the ABC Motsepe League, as well as Highlands Park juniors.
